The Challenge

Our client is a leading advisory firm that helps their clients plan, deliver, and operate nationally significant assets, infrastructure, services, and programs across Australasia. As generative AI gained traction, consultants across the organisation began adopting AI tools independently, both for internal purposes and client-facing delivery, resulting in fragmented, ungoverned usage that introduced risk without capturing the technology's full potential.

Evolvere was engaged to develop an AI framework that would bring structure and oversight to AI adoption while preserving, and accelerating, the innovation and productivity gains that had already begun to emerge.

Our Approach

Evolvere followed the following approach for the delivery:

  • Discovery and Use Case Identification: We mapped AI use cases across internal operations and client-facing delivery, prioritising one with the highest impact and feasibility.

  • Commercial Model Design: We evaluated and recommended commercial models best suited for operationalising the use cases at scale, considering cost efficiency, data sovereignty, and vendor flexibility.

  • Pilot-to-Production Delivery: We designed, piloted, and productionised one end-to-end use case using a commercial large language model, demonstrating measurable value while embedding safe, governed AI practices from the outset.

What We Delivered

  • A model-agnostic framework that decouples use cases from specific AI models, ensuring the organisation can adopt new technologies and improvements without rearchitecting its approach.

  • Foundations for an AI Working Group and a Data & AI Committee, providing clear ownership and decision-making authority over AI initiatives.

  • Architecture for an internal AI portal serving as a single point of entry for all AI-related resources, policies, tools, and guidance.

  • Optimisation of one of the organisation's core processes, impacting the majority of staff, including automation of a critical step using the Claude Opus model to demonstrate the practical value of governed AI.

  • A set of scalable, reusable technical components built on Anthropic's architecture, leveraging projects, skills, and connectors to accelerate future use case delivery.

  • A tailored roadmap aligned to the organisation's strategic vision, current maturity level, and compliance requirements, providing a clear path for continued AI adoption.

The Outcome

The pilot use case served as a powerful proof of value, saving the organisation's consultants over 2,000 work hours annually while demonstrating how AI can be deployed responsibly within a governed framework. It now serves as the foundation for the rollout of additional use cases across the business.

Equally significant, the governance model was widely embraced by both leadership and staff. Rather than being perceived as a constraint on innovation, it was recognised as an enabler, providing the confidence and guardrails needed to scale AI adoption safely and sustainably.

practical delivery. They helped us establish scalable, fit-for-purpose AI governance while implementing a use case that clearly demonstrated the value AI can bring to our firm.

Their depth of knowledge in AI and data management was very clear throughout the engagement. Their team also fitted perfectly with our organisational culture and was genuinely enjoyable to work with from start to finish."
