Jon is a senior Data Executive, with 20+ years of consulting experience built in Europe and Australia, working for Big 4s and major systems integrators.
Recently, he was a Partner in PwC Australia’s Cyber Security practice and he subsequently led Scyne Advisory’s Data Trust practice nationally.
In addition to his technical expertise and delivery experience, Jon has a proven track record in initiating and nurturing relationships with key senior Executives and technologists.
Data Governance and Discovery | Health-centric NFP
A NFP operating in 20+ countries globally lacked detailed understanding of its data holdings over its 20 years of existence. The Board commissioned an independent review of the sensitive information held in its key systems (across structured databases and documents repositories). Jon and his team deployed an automated scanning solution, appropriately configured the platform and worked with data owners to remediate areas of concerns. The team also developed a tailored data governance framework to avoid the recurrence of the issues identified.
Data Strategy Definition and Operationalisation | Victorian Government Entity
Jon led the development a Data Strategy to support the realisation of the Entity’s overarching strategy. Subsequent phases were dedicated to the operationalisation of the Data Strategy across multiple workstreams: definition of guidelines, mapping of processes and data lineages, elicitation of data quality requirements, implementation of data health dashboards, and recommendations of controls to be put in place to avoid recurrence of remediated issues.
Data Migration | Australian Fintech Organisation
Jon’s team was appointed by this organisation to support the preparation of Employee and Payroll data ahead of the migration to a centralised HR platform and a new Payroll Services provider. The team performed data mappings, data transformation, data profiling, data anomalies identification and delivered ad-hoc reports supporting remediation. In parallel, Jon’s team helped shape the overall solution architecture, data modelling, integration architecture, and provided significant input to the program management and scheduling activities.
Life Insurance Demerger | Major Australian Bank
Jon established and co-led the Data Stream on the buy-side of the transaction. His role was to define the migration strategy and schedule for the transfer of acquired data from the legacy systems in the seller’s landscape to the systems in the target organisation (10+ target platforms, 100+ legacy systems, 100+ TB of data and ecosystem of 10 vendors).
Jon also led the implementation of 3 platforms (Inbound Communications, Records Management, Outbound Communications) that formed the Communications ecosystem of the new organisation resulting from the demerger of the Life Insurance business out of Australia’s national bank.
